Yenepoya Medical College silver jubilee festivities continues with a captivating blend of Bollywood retro music, live performances, and a cultural showcase at Town Hall, Mangaluru, on Friday, May 24 in their A grand musical evening 'Bollywood Retro-Live Orchestra' and Cultural Show by the doctors of YMC.
Established in 1999, Yenepoya Medical College (YMC) has been at the forefront of medical education and research. The distinguished constituent of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Deralakatte, Mangalore, proudly is Marking 25 years of excellence in medical education and service, the college has organized a series of educational, social, and cultural events to commemorate this milestone.
Dr. Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, chancellor of Yenepoya University, expressed his gratitude during the event, stating, "I am delighted to be part of this charitable endeavour. I extend my thanks to the almighty, as I believe that every achievement is possible through divine grace. I also acknowledge the dedicated efforts of my father, along with the hard work of all our stakeholders. Today marks a significant milestone, and I am pleased that we are celebrating it by contributing to worthwhile causes. We have donated a sum of Rs 1 lakh each to PAGE (People's Association for Geriatric Empowerment) and ACT (Animal Care Trust, Mangaluru). My heartfelt congratulations to the doctors for their noble initiative. I also extend my appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for his unwavering support and Dr. Ananth Prabhu for organising this splendid event." The Cheque of the donation amount was presented to the PAGE (People's Association for Geriatric Empowerment) and the Animal Care Trust (ACT) Mangalore by Dr. Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, the Honorable Chancellor of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University).
Dr Ananth Prabhu, Dr Priyanka, Dr Yathish, Malini Prasad, and Manjula Shetty and the talented musicians of ymc enchanted the audience with their renditions of some Bollywood hits from the 60s and 70s, transporting everyone into a musical reverie. The Doctors and the faculty of the presented a cultural event showcasing iconic characters & actors from the films.
Dr M S Moosabba, principal of YMC, delivered a warm welcome speech, and Dr Ananth Prabhu, as the convener of the organising committee for the musical evening and cultural Show, expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks.
The event saw the esteemed presence of Dr Gangadhar Somayaji K S, registrar of Yenepoya University; Dr B H Sripathi Rao, pro vice-chancellor; Dr Abhay Nirgude, dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Dr Prakash R Saldanha, vice-principal of YMC, and other distinguished guests.
